Tau Samper is an ecologist working at the intersection of environmental and social systems to foster holistic sustainability transformations. Samper brings expertise in measuring biodiversity and ecosystem services, as well as methods for involving local communities. Their work focuses on repairing the relationship between humans and the environment through research, ecological restoration, and community engagement.

Over the last 7 years, Samper has collaborated with diverse groups in Latin America and Germany-from Indigenous organizations and activists to artists, academics and policymakers-on issues of equity, climate, ecological restoration and sustainability, using creative, transdisciplinary and participatory approaches. Samper thrives in multicultural, interdisciplinary environments and aspires to drive equitable sustainability initiatives in the Global South by building bridges for resource sharing from the Global North.

Currently, they are exploring how gender and climate change intersect in the Amazon basin, emphasizing narratives of resilience and empowerment. Also, for the last 2 years, they have been leading a seminar on Postcolonial Ecology at the University for Sustainable Development Eberswalde.
